Charlie Nicel, Human Resource Manager, Da Vinci Complex, with winning student, Zara ColhounUU Hotel and Tourism Management student, Zara Colhoun, from Omagh, has been presented with the Da Vinci Cup for excellence in academic performance. Zara, who graduated from the University’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management with a first class honours degree earlier this year, also won a weekend for two at Da Vinci’s Hotel Complex. ? The prize, sponsored by Derry businessman, Garvin O’Doherty, and presented by Mr Charlie Nicel, Human Resource Manager, rewards the highest achieving student in the Strategic Management module.Frances Devine, Course Director for Hotel and Tourism Management said: “The Hotel and Tourism degree programme is delighted to have the sponsorship of the Da Vinci Cup, it is an encouragement to students to have such support from local industry. “Zara was an outstanding student. Throughout her studies she was highly motivated, enthusiastic and determined to be successful, qualities that are very important for a successful career in the hotel and tourism industry.”Zara is a former student of Gibson Primary School and Drumragh Integrated College, Omagh.? ?
